Santa DB9160Organizer | We'll also be making Facebook posts throughout the night with a picture of the bar we are currently Santafying. www.facebook.com/events/171530979609239 Sat, 10th Dec, 2011 14:42 EST |
Santa DB9160Organizer | Food! So we're bound to get hungry after sledding and since we'll be there around dinner time, the Looking Glass House seems a good option though it can be a bit spendy. Thriftier Santa's will also have options at a couple fast food places on the way (McDonald's and Burger King). Other than that there is Rita's and later on Gallagher's for gnosh options. Smoking! For those who smoke, smoking materials are best for Santas when they come pre-rolled in rolling papers, then Santas aren't seen lighting their Christmas pipes in back alleys and along the crawl. Santa DB9160Organizer | Looking for last minute Santa costumes? Master Santa saw that CVS in Eureka on Myrtle (and likely other CVS) have these 3/4 length red heavy felt robes for $9.99 that can easily be repurposed into a Santa or Ms. Clause costume. The Dollar store has Santa hats and you can make a beard easily following the instructions here: tradewindtiaras.blogspot.com/2011/11/diy-project-how-to-make-great-gnome-or.html It's not too late to join the Santarchy! Santa DB9160Organizer | We have the 2011 SantaCon pub-crawl rout determined. After sledding at Pacific Outfitters (5th & R) beginning at 4 pm, we will proceed to The Little Red Lion (5th & P) then to the Looking Glass House (1st & P), then to Rita’s (5th & L), then to the AA (4th &J), then to Ragg’s Rack Room (5th & H), then we are off for revenge (for not letting us in last year) at the Red Fox Tavern (5th & E), then to the Shanty (3rd & C), next to Gallagher’s (2nd & C) for redemption (after kicking us out last year) and finishing at Steve and Dave’s (1st & C) where we will be welcomed and cabs will take us home. Updates will be tweeted at @santaconhumbold if you will be joining us en route. It is possible that some photos and updates might also find their way to the facebook page at: www.facebook.com/pages/SantaCon-Eureka/284477798250779 Santarchy to all and to all a good night. Santa Anon | I carry a big sack of Santa props and invite people to reach into Santa's giant sack. Tue, 6th Dec, 2011 21:43 EST |
Santa Anon | All depends. Have you downloaded and printed the songbooks? We do caroling and if the bars are cool with that we stay longer. It's also not unexpected to be kicked out (we were twice last year and countless times in SF). We just play it by ear. Also a good idea to buy a bunch of santa hats and beards, reindeer antlers, elf hats and so forth so that you can give them out (be a good santa) to those who wish to join you. Santa SC4167 | Sounds good. How much time have you built into each bar stop? I'm thinking 45 minutes....I'll try to make the sledding but have some set up to do. HoHoHo! Tue, 6th Dec, 2011 19:12 EST |
Santa Anon | It's better to have separate and smaller forces. Once you suddenly appear with more than twenty Santas all wanting drinks in an already busy bar, it can be a real hassle for everyone. The bartenders go nuts, the last Santa is getting her drink as the first served is finishing and yadda yadda yadda. I think the sledding would be fun to do together though. Santa SC4167 | Any chance you want to combine Santa forces and do the bar crawl in Arcata? We are meeting on the plaza at 6 pm and have 7 bars set with discounts for all dressed up! Check out SantaCon Arcata for more info. Tue, 6th Dec, 2011 13:43 EST |

Santa Anon | Two weeks before Christmas and Santa decided “He needed to bar-hop,” he could no longer fight it. So he invited Ms. Clause, reindeer and an elf And he dressed them all up as if they were himself… Santacon is coming to town, again. For the second year, reindeer, Santas and other jolly elves will gather together and make merry and descend en mass on the bars of Eureka. Santacon 2011 will be on Saturday December 10th and will begin with an epic Santacon sledding extravaganza at Pacific Outfitters on the corner of 101 and R Street in Eureka. Rail Jam 2011 ends at 4pm and afterward the Santacon friendly staff will leave the leftover piles of manicured snow and snow ramp for costumed Santacon sledding. Come early as the whole rig will need to be taken down not long afterwards. Then the merriment will continue along a predetermined pub crawl route through the bars of Eureka and Old Town. Ms. Pretty Clause and Master Santa will once again lead the parade of merry makers in adult Holiday caroling with plenty of goodies for all from their giant sack. Remember to come in costume, bring cash, be nice to the kiddies and arrange for a safe ride home. Follow Santacon Eureka on Twitter (@santaconhumbold) and check the Facebook page for updates. This is NOT FOR CHILDREN (21 and over only). Sat, 3rd Dec, 2011 22:51 EST |
