- check back soon for more info
Santa Anon | Thanks for the info Santa PZ4827. I went down to Newport with a friend last week to check out some local bars and make a list, so we're working on the schedule right now. We'll meet up in a local park and collect canned good donations for the RI Food Bank to start, and hope to have some kind of raffle at our last stop to raise funds for another local charity. So tell me - do you do any kind of games, or contests, to keep it interesting? And do you hand out little gifts to people on the street along the way? Wed, 21st Sep, 2011 10:12 EDT |
Santa PZ4827Organizer | Hello Santa TY2603, Last year I organized the Westerly Santacon. Being a small town it went beyond my expectations. There was only about 50 people or so, but I'm hoping to possibly double that this year. As far as the planning went, I set up an public event on FB and sent out invitations to all my friends and informed them it was open to everyone. I made it a charitable event and had everyone bring a canned good to donate to the local food pantry. I set up a time and place for everyone to meet, and kept to the schedule. It's important to keep to a schedule in order to make sure you make alll your visits in whatever bars you plan on going to. Good Luck and let me know if you have any questions. Westerly will probably happen again on Dec 3rd as well. Tue, 20th Sep, 2011 19:45 EDT |
